    Tom Joyner, Managing Director of Arriva Trains Wales Tom Joyner - Managing Director   
    Tom is Managing Director for Arriva Trains Wales where he leads a business with a team of over 2200 colleagues right across Wales and the Borders, helping them to connect people and communities to what is important to them. Tom joined from London Midland, where he was Passenger Services Director and brings with him 20 years’ experience in the rail industry. Tom joined London Midland in 2013 and has led a team of 2,000 people to transform the 60 million passenger journeys made every year. His efforts led to London Midland being given the accolade of Britain’s most improved organisation for customer service by the Institute of Customer Service. His previous roles include working in the field of future rail systems at Network Rail and before that holding board and leadership roles within the First Group and National Express Train Operating Companies.
    Bethan Jelfs, Customer Service Director  

    Bethan Jelfs - Customer Services Director
    Bethan began her career in the travel office at her hometown station of Bridgend and now holds the role of Customer Services Director within Arriva Trains Wales.  During her career she has worked in many different roles from HR, Safety, Training & Development and more recently as our Head of Stations. 

    Bethan is responsible for leading our passionate and proud front-line teams within Stations, our on-train Conductors and our Catering teams and also our Customer Relations and Social media teams. The teams provide support and customer service and are the face of Arriva Trains Wales to our customers throughout Wales and the borders as we consistently drive to improve the customer experience and their interaction with our people. Bethan is committed to delivering excellent customer service and supports this through our community schemes and our many media interests and has a passion not just to do better but to continuously improve on what we deliver through our people.

    Lynne Milligan, Projects & Planning Director  Lynne Milligan - Projects & Planning Director  

    The Projects and Planning Director leads the ATW element of major projects in Electrification, major signalling renewal and Property, which typically includes all of the interface elements with Network Rail and contractors plus leading on the customer delivery plan. Lynne is also responsible for the review and development of our train plan.

    Lynne has had an extensive career is rail and has held directorships in Human Resources and Customer Services at Arriva Trains Wales prior to taking up her current role.

    Owen Clutterbuck, Finance Director  Owen Clutterbuck - Finance Director  
    Owen was previously Financial Controller at Arriva Trains Wales before taking up his new position as Finance Director in December 2017. He joined Arriva Trains Wales in 2008 as a Finance Business Partner and brings with him a wealth of experience across a number of industries over the last 20 years. Owen is responsible for Finance, Procurement, Payroll and IT.
    Chris Williams, Commercial Director  Chris Williams - Commercial Director  

    Chris joined Arriva Trains Wales back in 2010, initially as a Commercial Analyst. Subsequently he has held a number of management posts within the Commercial function before being promoted to the position of Head of Revenue in May 2016. In December 2017, Chris was promoted to the role of Commercial Director and is now responsible for the company’s

    Commercial Analysis, Pricing & Ticketing, Business Travel, Retail, Revenue Protection and Marketing functions.

    Keith Winder Keith Winder - Production Director  
    Keith is responsible for the operational delivery of Arriva Trains Wales services, which includes leading our Engineering, Drivers, Control and Operations teams. Keith and his team are responsible for maintaining our hard working fleet of trains and ensuring we operate a reliable and quality service for our customers and communities. Keith has over 40 years of experience in several senior manager and director roles across the UK rail industry and considerable overseas experience as a consultant.

    Gareth is a dynamic HR Director with 16 years’ experience of leading organisational change and transformation in complex, multi-site environments. I am passionate about creating people focussed business strategies to drive operational results and I operate effectively in both the programme and business as usual environments.
    Martyn Brennan, Ops & Safety Manager Arriva trains Wales

    Responsible for the day to day operational side of the company, including the safety function, performance management, control and our team of experienced train drivers.

    Mike Tapscott - Franchise Change Director
    Mike’s leadership experience and knowledge ranges from roles in all the operations, business development and new business. Having joined the rail industry as a conductor, Mike brings first-hand knowledge and experience of a front-line operations and customer service role. His career progressed through many operational roles within Arriva Trains Wales including Performance Strategy and was pivotal in transforming train performance to 95% punctuality. His previous leadership roles have included Operations & Safety Director, Bidding Director and Projects & Planning Director. Having spent time working on a group project, Mike is currently the Franchise Change Director, overseeing the franchise programme to ensure a smooth transition.
