    How to get a mobile ticket

    Step 1

    Download the latest version of the ATW Ticket app for iPhone and Android.

    Step 2

    Choose the ‘m-ticket’ option when booking on the app or our website. If booking on the web, you’ll receive a confirmation email after purchase. Simply open it on your phone to download your tickets to the app.

    Step 3

    Your mobile ticket will appear under ‘My Tickets’ in the app. Scan your m-ticket at the gates and show it to staff before boarding

     

    How to use a mobile ticket

    1. First, activate it before heading to the platform 

    2. Scan the ticket barcode at the ticket gates, or show it to available train and station staff 

    3. That’s it – enjoy your journey

    Mobile tickets are a great way to make train travel easier. With no need to buy tickets at the station, you're free to head straight for your train!

    • Book direct using our website or on the app to avoid booking and card fees
    • Select ‘m-ticket’ or ‘mobile ticket’ as your collection option
    • Your tickets will appear in the 'My Tickets' section of the app
    • Activate your mobile ticket before you board the train
    • The ticket will then be valid for travel and ready for inspection by rail staff
    • You can activate your ticket even if you don't have any mobile signal, just make sure you have plenty of charge.
    • Some station barriers will have scanners to allow you through, however if they don't you just need to show your mobile ticket to a member of staff on hand at the barrier.

         

    Things you should know before you choose an m-ticket

    All m-tickets can be exchanged or refunded for a fee, except for Advance tickets (these are non-refundable).

    When using an m-ticket you'll need to:

    • Activate your m-ticket on the day of travel, from within the app, and show it to inspectors while on the train
    • Ensure your mobile is charged – if you are unable to display your m-ticket, you’ll need to buy a new ticket at the full fare.

    Lost or not received your m-ticket?

    Your m-ticket is saved in the ‘My Tickets’ section of the ATW Tickets app. If it hasn't appeared after two hours, or you lose your phone please give our After Sales team a call on 0370 333 4870. Calls are charged at standard BT rates. Other operators may vary.
