    At times it is unavoidable that Network Rail engineering works may affect some of our services, meaning alterations to the scheduled timetables. Arriva Trains Wales and Network Rail apologise for any inconvenience that these temporary alternations may cause.

    We advise passengers intending to travel to enquire before starting their journey for full details of altered trains, onward connections and additional road transport. Details of alterations may be obtained from your local travel office or by contacting National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950.

    It is regretted that dogs (except guide dogs), cycles, prams and large items of luggage cannot be conveyed on replacement road coach services. 

     

Late night engineering work affecting Arriva Trains Wales services each night from Monday 30 August to Thursday 2 September 2010

The 20:17 Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly service will be diverted via Styal and will be unable to call at Stockport.

The 21:42 Bridgend to Aberdare service will terminate at Cardiff Central. Passengers are advised to connect into the 22:46 Cardiff Central to Treherbert service for a connecting replacement bus at Pontypridd to Aberdare.  

The 21:56 Barry Island to Merthyr Tydfil service will be replaced by a bus between Pontypridd and Merthyr Tydfil.

Monday to Thursday

  • 19:08 Carmarthen to Chester will be replaced by a bus between Crewe and Chester.
  • 20:17 Maesteg to Manchester Piccadilly will be replaced by a bus between Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly.
  • 22:35 Manchester Piccadilly to Shrewsbury will be diverted and will be unable to call at Stockport, Wilmslow, Crewe, Nantwich, Wrenbury, Whitchurch, Press, Wem or Yorton. Customers for these stations are advised to travel on the replacement road transport from Stockport to Shrewsbury.  
  • 22:55 Birmingham New Street to Holyhead will terminate at Crewe. Customers are advised to travel on the earlier 23:35 replacement road transport from Crewe to Chester to connect into the additional 00:40 Chester to Holyhead service.
  • 23:23 Crewe to Chester will be replaced by a bus throughout.    
  • 04:23 Chester to Birmingham New Street will be replaced by a bus between Chester and Crewe. The bus leaves Chester at the earlier time of 03:50.
  • 04:55 Chester to Crewe will be replaced by a bus throughout.

 

Tuesday to Friday

  • 04:35 Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly will be retimed to depart at the earlier time of 04:20.

19:08 Carmarthen to Chester will terminate at Crewe. A replacement bus will run between Crewe and Chester.

20:09 between Birmingham International and Aberystwyth will terminate at Machynlleth. A replacement bus with run between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.

22:21 Cardiff Central to Coryton and the 22:45 Coryton to Cardiff Central will be cancelled and no alternative transport will be provided.

22:45 Barry Island to Pontypridd will be diverted. A replacement bus will run between Cardiff Central and Pontypridd.

22:49 Penarth to Ystrad Mynach will terminate at Cardiff Central. A replacement bus will run between Cardiff Central and Ystrad Mynach.

23:14 Radyr to Barry Island will start at Cardiff Central. A replacement bus will run between Radyr and Barry Island.

23:22 Chester to Manchester Piccadilly will be diverted. A replacement bus will run between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly calling at Helsby, Frodsham, Runcorn East, Warrington Bank Quay, Earlestown and Newton-le-Willow.

Tuesday to Friday

04:23 Chester to Birmingham New Street will start from Crewe at 05:00. A replacement bus will run between Chester and Crewe.

04:55 Chester to Crewe will be replaced by a bus.

05:14 Aberystwyth to Birmingham International will start from Machynlleth. A replacement bus will run between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth calling at Borth and Machynlleth.
