How do you buy Advance Purchase Fares?
When can I buy Advance Tickets?
Advance tickets are generally available to book 12 weeks before the date of travel.
Once train times are confirmed, Advance tickets will begin to appear in our Booking System. You will be able to find full details of availability by looking at our Online Booking System.
Advance tickets are sold in limited numbers, and so subject to availability.

Some services are closed for reservations on Saturday 2 June due to rugby at Cardiff.
Where can I buy Advanced Tickets?

Online
The easiest way to buy advance purchase tickets is online - click here to buy online now.
With Arriva Trains Wales, there are no booking fees, no credit card or
debit card fees and no delivery fees (except next day delivery). When
you book with us, all you pay for is the price of your ticket.
By telephone
Please call 08709 000 773 between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday or 9am and 5pm Sundays to buy advance purchase tickets over the telephone.
At the station
You can also buy your train tickets from the station. Use our Station Search to find your nearest station.
Remember - Advance purchase ticket can be purchased up till 6pm the day before travel.
Advance purchase tickets cannot be purchased on board the train.
Can I get a discount?
You can get 1/3 off Advance Purchase ticket if you have a 16-25, Family & Friends, Disabled Persons or a Senior Railcard holder. Also, child discounts apply for all Advance fares.
When can I use an Advance ticket?
Advance fares are valid only on the date and train shown on the ticket and are non-refundable. You can change the time or date of travel before departure of the first reserved train. Any difference in fare and an administration fee will be payable.
Changing an Advance ticket:
You can visit any booking office or call the
telesales outlet that you bought your ticket from. If there are still
other Advance fares available, you can change it to another Advance
fare.
If there are no Advance fares available, you can upgrade the
ticket to the most appropriate ticket for the journey you now want to
make. You will have to pay any difference in fare and an administration
fee of no more than £10.
Please note that changes to 'Advance' fares cannot be made
on-board the train. If you board a train without a ticket and
reservation for that service, a new ticket must be purchased.
