Before you travel
- Plan ahead - where possible, please contact our customer services team on 0870 9000 767 to discuss your travel requirements. If any member of your group requires assistance, for example a ramp for a wheelchair, please let us know in advance by calling the above number or emailing customer.relations@arrivatrainswales.co.uk
- Please note that large groups cannot be accommodated on services before 0930 and between 1600 and 1900
- Groups can often benefit from a discounted fare. Our customer services team can advise on the cost of your fare including any discount. Once your journey requirements have been confirmed, we will inform you of how and where to pay.
- Prior to the day of travel, nominate a responsible adult to lead your party
During your journey
-
At the station, arrive early to ensure you are on the correct platform
- Keep everyone back from the platform edge and ensure young children are properly supervised
- When boarding, if you have reservations, check that you are in the correct coach
- The group leader should make themselves known to the conductor and inform the conductor at which station you will be alighting
- Please ensure your group remains seated, keep aisles clear of bags and on certain trains, be aware of and keep hands clear of the automatic sliding internal doors
- Five to ten minutes prior to arrival at your destination, please ensure that your group is prepared and ready to leave the train with everyone being in possession of their personal belongings. Your conductor will be able to advise on which side of the train to alight.
- On arrival at your destination, be ready to leave the train in an orderly and safe manner, taking care to mind the gap between the train and the platform. With young children, responsible adults should alight first to marshal children to a safe place to wait on the platform. Another responsible adult should leave the train last to ensure that no persons or possessions have been left behind
