Arriva Trains Wales has lowered all its standard class fares, including season tickets, at all stations between Swansea, Cardiff and Newport. This follows on from the recent successful Price Buster promotion and will make most fares along the route their cheapest since 1995.
The fares will also be available on First Great Western and Central Trains services. Fares from Swansea to Cardiff will be priced from 4.90 return and from Pontyclun to Cardiff £2.90 return. Newport to Swansea will cost from £9.80 return.
The fares will come into operation on 20 May and are among a range of cheap fares introduced by Arriva Trains Wales. The popular £10 Cardiff to Manchester fare will continue while there are special promotions for travel from South to North Wales including Cardiff to Bangor from £15.
Arriva Trains Wales commercial director, Mike Bagshaw said: “Our price buster promotion earlier this year was popular with customers but was only available from the larger stations. Now all passengers on the route will benefit from our lower prices. We have also extended the discounts to include season tickets”
