Keep Wales Tidy Awards 2013
Since they were launched in 1990, the Tidy Wales Award ceremonies have recognised individuals, businesses, schools and voluntary organisations that have gone the extra mile to make real and lasting improvements to their local areas. The awards are administered by Keep Wales Tidy and sponsored by Environment Agency Wales.
The categories for the 2013 awards are – Wales’ Best Kept Staffed Station and Wales’ Best Kept Un-Staffed Station. First impressions count and as stations are gateways to villages, towns and cities, these awards aim to recognise those stations that present a clean and welcoming environment.
More than 160 of Wales’ small unstaffed stations have been adopted by volunteers and organisations as part of Arriva Trains Wales’ adopt a station initiative. Many are lovingly cared for with colourful floral displays and artwork produced by local children and young people.
The closing date for entries is Monday 14 January 2013. The awards will be held on Wednesday 27 February 2013 at the Pierhead Building, Cardiff Bay.
