We've tried to design and build the ARRIVA Trains Wales website to be accessible to everybody. We hope you find it easy and enjoyable to use.

ArrivaTrains Wales are very pleased to have achieved the Shaw Trust accessibility standard. This means that our website has passed stringent accessibility testing by experinced users of adaptive technology for access for people who have:

Access Keys

This website has a number of keyboard shortcuts set up to help with navigation using the letter and number keys on your keyboard (not the number pad).

The following access keys are available throughout the website:

How you activate keyboard shortcuts depends on your browser and operating system.

PCs

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  • Press 'Alt' and the access key letter, then press enter.

Firefox/Netscape

  • Press 'Alt' and the access key letter at the same time.

Macs

  • Mozilla/Netscape - hold down 'Control' key and then press the access key letter.

Accessibility objectives

Text & Graphics

  • Text is resizeable.
  • A text equivalent for every non-text element has been provided via "alt", "longdesc", or in element content.
  • Text and graphics are understandable when viewed without colour.
  • Text within images is used as little as possible. Where unavoidable (such as logos), ALT attributes have been used.

Windows users

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 and above: go to the View menu and select Text Size. In Text Size, choose Medium, Larger or Largest.
  • Netscape 4: go to the View menu then choose Increase or Decrease font.
  • Netscape 6 and above: go to the View menu and select Text Zoom. Then choose the setting that best suits you.
  • Mozilla Firefox 1 and above: go to the View menu and select Text Size. Then adjust the size to suit you

Macintosh users

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and above: go to the View menu and select Text Zoom. Then choose the setting that best suits you.
  • Netscape 6 and above: go to the Edit menu and select Preferences; Then choose the setting that best suits you.
  • Mozilla Firefox 1 and above: go to the View menu and select Text Size. Then adjust the size to suit you

Tables

  • Tables are only used to display tabular information. Structural markup is used to identify table headers.

Forms

  • The LABEL element is used to explicitly associate form inputs with their controls.

Stylesheets

  • Stylesheets are used to handle layout and presentation.
  • Styles will not work on older browsers. However the content will display in the correct order, is fully legible, and all page elements are visible.
