    Birmingham Events

    Sunday 17th January
    BBL Cup Final, Barclaycard Arena (Birmingham)
    Gates Open: 12:00   Expected Attendance: 14,000
    Trains between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street are expected to be busy with people going to this popular event. A queuing system may be in operation at Birmingham New Street.

    Friday 22nd - Sunday 24th January
    Strictly Come Dancing Live, Barclaycard Arena (Birmingham)
    Gates Open: 12:30 & 18:30   Expected Attendance: 14,000

    Trains between Shrewsbury and Birmingham New Street are expected to be busy with people going to this popular event. A queuing system may be in operation at Birmingham New Street.

    Saturday 23rd - Sunday 24th January
    Arenacross, Genting Arena (Birmingham)
    Gates Open: 18:30   Expected Attendance: 14,000
    Trains between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International are expected to be extremely busy with people going to this hugely popular event. A queuing system may be in operation at Birmingham International.

    Saturday 2nd January
    Cardiff City v. Blackburn Rovers
    Kick-Off: 15:00   Expected Attendance: 32,000

    Sunday 10th January
    Cardiff City v. Shrewsbury Town (FA Cup Third Round)
    Kick-Off: 18:00   Expected Attendance: 32,000

    The third round of the FA Cup begins and this is anticipated to be a key game for away fans. There is no City Line service on a Sunday we advise people to use Grangetown station as there will be more services running.     Customers are advised to take the earliest service possible into Cardiff and to head straight back to Central station after the event.

    Extra capacity will be added to services where possible however this will be very limited and trains will be busy. A post event queuing system will be in place after the event.

    Customers are also advised to take extra notice of the queue plan for this event as the entry points to some of the queues have changed from their usual position.
