NEW PLATFORM TO SHARE YOUR VIEWS WITH THE TRANSPORT POLICE

Rail users on the Treherbert, Aberdare, Merthyr and Rhymney Valley lines are being encouraged to share their view of safety and security with the introduction of a new email reporting facility.

NPT Officers at Pontypridd The new facility, launched by British Transport Police, offers passengers and local residents the opportunity to report non emergency related information regarding anti-social behaviour direct to officers based at Pontypridd and Newport railway stations.

Sergeant Jaci Thomas, said: “Regular monthly PACT meetings are held with our partners in the community to discuss issues relating to safety and security at stations and trains.  We would encourage anyone who would like to share a concern with us to use the new facility in order for it to be discussed at these meetings.”

She continued: “Passengers and local residents have a key role to play in our response to anti social behaviour.  PACT is all about giving local people the opportunity to influence decisions that affect them.  Every piece of information helps us to look at solutions and ensure we are addressing the issues that matter most.”
