• Buying a Season Ticket

Where can I buy a ticket?
Buying a season ticket for the first time is easy – just visit your nearest staffed station where our ticket office staff will be able to issue your season ticket and photo card immediately.

Remember, when you are buying a season ticket for the first time, you'll need:

    • a recent passport-type photograph for the accompanying photo card

Please note: You cannot buy a season ticket for the first time:

    • online
    • over the phone
    • from the conductor on a train
    • from a self-service ticket machine

You must go to your nearest staffed station.

Once you have your photocard, you can buy seven day season tickets at self-service ticket machines, from any ticket office and on the train.

You can also buy season tickets of any duration, between monthly and annual, online once you have your photocard.

You can buy it from 1200 noon on the day before the first day you'd like to use it. If the start date is a Sunday or Monday (or Tuesday after a Bank Holiday), you can renew your season ticket from 1200 noon on the previous Friday.

You can renew your season ticket anytime up to seven days in advance providing it's going to start on the day after the expiry of the one you already have.  If there's a break then it's considered a new ticket and can only be bought from 1200 noon on the day before you want to use it (see above).
