Our network of services is a gateway to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Why not combine the speed and relaxation afforded by the train with the access and freedom that comes with cycling?

Visit the Millennium Coastal Path near Llanelli with stunning views of Carmarthen Bay or discover the beauty of Snowdonia - both easily accessible by train.

Our trains cater for the growing numbers of cycling enthusiasts around Wales, helping them to get around quickly and easily.

If you are planning to take your bike with you, a few tips to bear in mind are:

    • our trains are formed of either 1, 2, 3 or 4 carriages.  Trains formed of 1, 2 or 3 carriages can carry 2 bikes, trains formed of 4 carriages can carry 4 bikes
    • reservations can be made on certain services and are free.  To check which ones, please take a look at our “Cycling by Train” leaflet (PDF format) or call 0845 6061 660.  Reservations can be made up to 24 hours in advance at any ticket office.
    • on services where no reservations are required, bike space is allocated on a first come, first served basis.
    • on some busy routes, bikes cannot be carried during peak commuting times.  Please check our Cycling by Train leaflet for further details.
    • during periods of engineering work, please be aware that bikes cannot be taken on replacement bus services
    • Folding cycles - cycles completely folded down or completely enclosed in a container or case throughout the journey are carried free on all services.  Advance reservations are not required for folding cycles.

Please note: you won’t be able to take your bike on bus services.
