Seaside Strolls on the Cambrian Line
The Cambrian Coast Line has ‘Miles of Glorious Sands’. There are a wide variety of superb beaches, many of them award winning, at seaside resorts such as: Aberystwyth, Borth, Aberdovey, Tywyn, Barmouth, Harlech, Criccieth and Pwllheli which as well as the sands offer traditional favourites such as fish and chip shops, cafes, ice cream and cold drink vendors, pubs, rock and souvenir shops.

The Cambrian ALEways
The Cambrian Railways Partnership (CRP) has teamed up with the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) to promote travel by train to pubs on the Cambrian network through the new Cambrian ALEways initiative. Also included are some ideas of rail related things to do that combine to make a great day out for locals and visitors as well as of course rail and real ale enthusiasts!

The Winning Way to the Fairway
A new initiative to encourage golfers to travel by train to 12 of the golf courses served by the Cambrian Railways has been launched. As part of the scheme most of the participating golf clubs near the Cambrian network have agreed to provide a discount to those who travel to them by train.

Conwy Valley Line
The Conwy Valley line train takes you from the beautiful bay of “the Queen of the Welsh Resorts” at Llandudno on a 30 mile journey of contrasts along the Conwy and Lledr valleys as the scenery changes from gentle rolling pastures to the rugged mountains and the splendour of the Snowdonia National Park. Our train will climb to 790 feet above sea level, and pass through the mountains to arrive at the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Cambrian Railcard
The Cambrian Lines Railcard offers at least one third off most individual Standard Class rail fares on the Cambrian Lines. Holders of the Cambrian Lines Railcard are entitled to purchase most Standard Class rail fares for journeys Pwllheli - Aberystwyth- Machynlleth - Newtown - Shrewsbury (including from / to all intermediate stations) at a discount.

Heart of Wales Railcard
The railcard is valid for journeys between Swansea/Llanelli to Shrewsbury via Llandrindod Wells and is available to residents, aged 16 or over, of selected postcodes along the route of the Heart of Wales Line. The railcard costs £5.00 and is valid for one year. The card holder is entitled to 34% discount on local rail travel. There is no minimum fare.

The railcard can be purchased at Llandrindod Wells station only.

Pembrokeshire Railcard
The Pembrokeshire Railcard is available on all journeys within Pembrokeshire and extending to Swansea via Carmarthen. The railcard is available to residents aged 16 or over, of selected postcodes in Pembrokeshire. The railcard costs £5.00 and is valid for one year. The card holder is entitled to 34% discount on local rail travel. There is no minimum fare.

To buy your Pembrokeshire Railcard, please visit the Carmarthen or Haverfodwest station. The railcard is only available to residents, aged 16 or over, of the following postcode areas: SA34 0; SA61 1; SA61 2; SA62 3; SA62 4; SA62 5; SA62 6; SA63 4; SA64 0; SA65 9; SA66 7; SA67 7; SA67 8; SA68 0; SA69 9; SA70 7; SA70 8; SA71 4; SA71 5; SA72 4; SA72 6; SA73 1;SA73 2; SA73 3.

Senior Railcard
If you are 60 or over, you are entitled to an Arriva Trains Wales Seniors’ Railcard which gives a 50 per cent discount on Cheap Day Return fares on the Valleys & Cardiff local routes network (except between Cardiff Central, Newport and Cheltenham inclusive (see map on PDF)). The card costs just £5 and is valid for one year.
