• Concessionary Travel

    The Welsh  Government Concessionary Travel scheme will be operating again from the 1 October 2011 until the 30 March 2012 or 30 September 2013. The schemes are:

    Conwy Valley Line
    Wrexham – Hawarden Bridge
    Cambrian Coast (Machynlleth – Pwllheli)
    Heart of Wales
    Lime Strip 

    Conwy Valley Line
    This scheme is available to holders of a Concessionary Travel Pass issued by Conwy Councils. Pass holders will be eligible for free travel on all ATW services between Conwy Valley line between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno and on all ATW services between Llandudno Junction and Llandudno.  This period commences from 1 October 2011 and terminates 30 September 2013.

    Travel is permitted on the following stations:

    • Deganwy
    • Llandudno Junction
    • Glan Conwy
    • Tal-y-Cafn
    • Dalgarrog
    • North Llanrwst
    • Betws-y-Coed
    • Pont-y-Pant
    • Dolwyddelan
    • Roman Bridge
    • Blaenau Ffestiniog

    Lime Strip 
     

    Wrexham to Hawarden Bridge
    This scheme is available to holders of a Concessionary Travel Pass from the county of Flintshire County Council or Wrexham. Please be aware that concessionary travel is not allowed on the 0731 Bidston to Wrexham service between Hawarden Bridge and Wrexham. This period commences from 1 October 2011 and terminates 30 September 2013.

    Travel is permitted on the following stations:

    • Shotton
    • Hawarden
    • Buckley
    • Penyffordd
    • Hope
    • Caergwrie
    • Cefn-y-Bedd
    • Gwersyllt
    • Wrexham General
    • Wrexham Central

    Lime Strip 

    Cambrian Coast
    This scheme is available to holders of a Concessionary Travel Pass from the county of Gwynedd Council. This period commences from 3 October 2011 and terminates 30 March 2012.

    Please note: During school terms there will be some restriction of travel on some trains.
    06.10 Pwllheli – Machynlleth between Barmouth and Tywyn
    07.34 Pwllheli – Machynlleth between Penrhynddeudraeth and Harlech.
    12.56 Machynlleth – Pwllheli between Harlech and Penrhynddeudraeth
    14.56 Machynlleth – Pwllheli between Tywyn and Barmouth

    Lime Strip 

    Heart of Wales Line
    This scheme is available to holders of a Concessionary Travel Pass from the county of Powys and Carmarthenshire Councils are valid. Holders of Swansea Local Authority issued passes boarding the Heart of Wales services at Pontardulais are not entitled to free travel and are to be charged the correct fare for the journey being made. This period commences from 3 October 2011 and terminates 30 March 2012.
