At Arriva Trains Wales, we recognise that Christmas and the New Year is a particularly important time for all your travel needs. Whether it’s visiting family and friends, buying gifts for loved ones or going to work, we want to ensure that all our customers can plan and make those important journeys.
To help, we have provided this quick summary of some minor changes which may affect journeys during this period. This page contains details of the train service levels and engineering work that will impact Arriva Trains Wales customers over the Christmas and New Year Holiday period.
On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, for those who are rushing home, or those who want to squeeze in some last minute Christmas shopping, we are happy to announce that we will be running a full services during the early part of the evening. Some of the later services will finishing earlier in the day than usual on Christmas Eve (Tuesday 24 December) and New Years Eve (Tuesday 31 December).

During the quiet period around Christmas and the New Year, whilst many people are at home enjoying the seasonal holidays, Network Rail have taken the opportunity to complete some much needed improvement work on the Arriva Trains Wales network. Please see below a full list of some of the services affected, and how we will be ensuring you can still make your important journeys.
The lost property office will be closed from 24 December 2014 and will re-open on 2 January 2015.
If you have lost an item please contact the Lost Property Office via telephone on 08456 061 660, option 4 and leave a brief message outlining a description of your lost item along with your name and telephone number. Your query will be dealt with when the office re-opens , however please note that it will take between 5 and 10 working days for all lost property to arrive and we will only be able to call you back if your item has been found.
